Thanks Shamir! I agree there has been tremendous growth - its undeniable.
I think the book is primarily about inequality - which is a separate problem in and of itself.
This book does a nice job explaining why we should challenge the dogma that "a rising tide raises all boats". The point here is that a large group has been left behind and not benefitting equally - see rise of nationalism, brexit, working class vote for Trump, etc.
Just reading another book on neuroscience and brain research - I'll share about later - that speaks about the incredible challenge, stress, and general discontent that arises out of inequality. Not poverty, but inequality. Fascinating.
